Do Brits really drink tea during the evening or at nights?

Whenever I watch a British TV show or a movie there’s always someone making tea really late. Since it contains caffeine, I can’t wrap my mind around it. I know people react differently to caffeine or have developed a tolerance, but it still seems off… surely not all or at least most of the British are so used to tea they can drink it any time of the day and still sleep normally?

So is this just a distorted portrayal or do you guys really drink tea at night?
