I used to do this when I worked in an office and was bored to tears but I have no idea if it’s normal. Dr. Google is trying to tell me I’m having a stroke but I’m 100% positive this isn’t the case. Basically, I can stare at something and relax to the point where everything goes blurry and I start seeing double. When I come out of this state, I get a ton of “eye floaties” for a couple seconds.
I am a woman. My D&D group has two female players, both playing female characters.
Every single time either of our characters is paralyzed, cue all the sexual assault jokes. It happened again last night. My character becomes paralyzed, and a whole bunch of jokes from the men about inappropriate touching and taking advantage of her immediately ensued. This has happened to both of us multiple times. We do not do it to each other.
My character found plate armor once, and the whole time I was switching armor the men all joked about leering at my character. It made me incredibly uncomfortable.
I have to deal with enough of this stuff in my regular, everyday life as a woman. The last thing I want to do is also have this kind of crap in my fictional make-believe fun times. This is supposed to be my escape, too, not yet another period of time where I have to be objectified and listen to men treat sexual assault as a joke. Don’t do this to your female players. It’s not cool.
Edit: Woah, hi everyone. I made this last night at like 3 AM when I couldn’t sleep and then went back to bed and I just woke up and wow. Thanks for all the supportive comments and offers of games. I’ll talk to the DM today about this. I appreciate it.
(Honestly, only receiving three of these [so far] to a post this big is better than I had expected, so take that for what it’s worth.)
