I have heard so many complaints from teens who are forced to pay rent about their parents still entering their room without permission, looking through their stuff, taking their stuff and limiting use of utilities even though their parents charge them for them anyway. It really isn’t fair.
If you’re making your kids pay rent, treat their room and property like a real landlord would and anyone who doesn’t should face legal penalties.
I also believe that once kids are being charged rent, they should be free to make their own decisions, eg. Going out whenever they want or inviting friends over.
And if any of you are getting ready to comment about how they should move out if they don’t like the rules, this isn’t an option for everyone especially kids aged 14-16 who are being charged rent but aren’t old enough to live anywhere else.
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican, on Tuesday congratulated Democratic President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their Nov. 3 election victories, ending his long silence on the outcome of the presidential race.
In remarks on the Senate floor, McConnell acknowledged the Democrats’ win of the White House following Monday’s formal result issued by the Electoral College. In a nearly 10-minute speech that mainly praised Republican President Donald Trump’s tenure in office, McConnell closed by saying: "Today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden," adding that "he has devoted himself to public service for many years."
McConnell, saying he had hoped for a "different result" in the Nov. 3 election, also said, "All Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president-elect for the very first time."
The best example of this I can think of is when someone who is from France comes to America and speaks English, but with a French accent. People usually think it’s cool or unique. However, if it were reversed and an American went to France and spoke French in an American accent, what would people think? Or what if it’s from a totally different region, what if someone from Japan went to France and spoke French with their regular accent, what would people think?
