Edit2: So many people are commenting that running doesn't do for them. Running or exercise is not a cure of depression, it only keeps you physically fit and since it helps in release of mentioned chemicals in brain, it bring mental benefits as well. But again it's not a cure for anything and one should never hold oneself back from seeking help of a psychiatrist.
