I remember when last they allowed it and the country kicked up such a huge fuss, it resulted in agovernment backpedal and a requirement that all GM foods be labelled as such. This is in turn completed collapsed the GM foods market in the UK, and the yankee companies all fucked off with their shite tasting "Food", eventually the EU made rules about it.
But now we are out of the EU and desperate for trade & food they are planning to re-allow and most likely to do so without the GM labels.
Are you guys comfortable with this?
I personally have quite a concern with RGBH & I am extremely uncomfortable with the idea of our foods becoming like Americas.
Did you know American apples are picked on avg 9 months before they even reach store shelfs, and do not brown after being bitten into. Something about that is not right.
RGBH, or recombinant bovine growth hormone, is a GE variation on a naturally occurring hormone injected into dairy cows to increase milk production. It is banned for milk destined for human consumption in the European Union, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
Although I suppose as long as GM food doesn't get labelled under the Organic category like the US gov attempted before, it wont be a problem for me personally.
OK so it isnt all Apples, just the GMO ones, they are called Arctic Apples.
